How to Package Tea and Coffee

You’re probably someone that has a tea and coffee business and wondered if there’s a better way to package these.

The answer is yes there is. In fact, lots of people don’t package them correctly, so they don’t prioritize them being fresh. They expose the beans to heat, air and moisture, and aren’t properly sealed in the containers.

You don’t want to mess up tea and coffee, but instead, follow these unique ways for you to package both of these so that others can enjoy the items that you offer.

The biggest No-Nos

There are a few no-nos that you should avoid when packaging both teas and coffees.

The first, are glass and clear containers. While they’re pretty, you’re essentially exposing these beans to heat and extreme light, messing up the integrity, and then the taste of the beans.

The second thing is throwing them in open-air types of containers. This creates oxidation, which actually ruins the flavor and can make them stale. Keeping them in a dry, cool space and covered up will help with preventing this from happening.

The Tin Tie Top

This is one that’s seen a lot in the retail and other ecommerce spaces. They’re basically a tie top that’s flexible, and also offers a top that’s easy to close and open up.

With the gusseted sides, it offers the best storage that you can. Finally, there is a bottom that’s flat, which is great for helping this stand perfectly upright.

You can buy these in bulk, and these are a favorite amongst people who love tea and coffee. They’re economical, and are a good option for storing the coffee beans, as they offer a liner that’s food safe, and good for you as well.

Lined Containers

This is another one for higher quality and luxury coffee and tea brands.

You basically put these in a lining that’s food safe. They have an exterior that’s opaque and also solid, so that you don’t have to worry very much about the sunlight getting into this. It also comes with a lid that’s two pieces, and also, you can get them with a hinge lid too in certain cases. Either way, it makes it easier for you to both close and open the packaging that you have, making this the best way to have the coffee that you love!

The modern pouches

This is one that’s become quite different and unique for a lot of reasons. Most people never get coffee in this way, but a lot of purveyors are getting creative.

Basically, they’re bulk bags that stand up without needing support. This of course, this great because they’re sleek, unique, and also have a sealable heat top that zips.  The top of this is sealed directly by heat, which creates a unique, airtight closure for the beans until the customer opens up.

This is great because it provides a pretty tamper-evident packaging that you can have for you product. Once you’ve gotten the heat seal opened up, then a customer can open and close the pouches the same way that they do a Ziplock bag with the zipping feature that offers a secure look to all of this that really shows this off.

When you’re trying to package coffee beans, there are  a lot of different ways for you to do that, and a lot that can play a part in the overall success of the product. Being able to offer a high quality means to really give the most out of this is the best way to make your coffee shine!
